Times are tough, Subie out of WRC? Seriously...that's like 90% of the rally fanbase right there...Toyota pulled out too for a while but they came back, hopefully Subie doesn't stay out too long.
Was (re)building shawnshawn a computer. I basically have a frankenbox of misc. parts that have been assembled to be one box. It runs pretty decent for what it is. It'll run most of the applications needed...just a little low on ram. My apartment is a mess. I need to clean.
Specs: AMD 2200+ XP 768 MB DDR ram 16X DVD-RAM/CD burner Radeon 9600XT Pro 80GB Maxtor HD (7200RPM) running Windows XP SP2
it's 5:02 AM I've been up for almost 24 hrs again pulling an all nighter trying to compile things for corporate ID class. Impossible to finish for real I have lost all creativeness as it is beyond human operation and I am now typing on a blog lolololkekekwwtf -_-;; zzzz
This is a tribute to my car that takes me from point A to B everyday anyday. It now has 57,000+ miles on it. It's my 2005 Corolla XRS. Paid for it mostly up front, it cost $16,500 out the door after all said and done, what a deal. It had ~65 miles on it when I bought it. Quite nice. I did a few little things to the car, including removing the side moldings, tinting, lowering it, front and rear sway bars, HID's then switching to PIAA super yellow halogens.
I changed the clutch at about 40-45,000 miles. The stock clutch is weak and can barely handle the 8750RPM redline that it's set to. It's a fun peppy little car equipped with the 2ZZ-GE, found in the Celica GT-S, Matrix XRS, Pontiac Vibe GT, and Lotus Elise / Exige S. Very rev-happy and has around 150~180 to the front wheels.
I originally wanted to turbo boost this car to 400whp with a MonkeyWrenchRacing turbo kit and get a helical LSD for the car, but got into drifting and rear wheel drive cars, seeing the limitations of FWD setups. Too bad Toyota's re-release of the XRS is just a 4 door mini camry 2.4L 4 cyl with no go....so sad. Oh well, Toyota is the #1 car company for a reason, they sold their souls to be it. As far as MPG goes, the car gets about 30-34 MPG mixed driving. I love it.
Model: Corolla SR5 (Converted to GTS) Make: Toyota Year: 1985 Owned since: ~2005 Don't ask about it, because you don't understand it unless you owned one. It's a love/hate relationship. It's a fun car to drive but really it's frustrating at times. There's a lot to do in this little car, it's quite unique, it's quite hard to explain why anyone would like such a car, considering it's an effin Corolla. It grows on you. Everyone wants one in some way or another, you just don't know it yet.
This car has been through alot. I have owned it for almost 4 years now and it's grown on me. It's a part of me and anyone who was involved in it. It's not just the car, it's the process that has really gotten me into the car scene. I'm not going to forget the stuff I've learned from it. From Carbs to Fuel injection, this car is quite interesting to drive.
I've slowly pieced this car together with the help of calling a few people, bugging them, slowly, yes, slow. Everything about this car is slow. I learned alot taking it apart as well as driving it. I couldn't have done it without the help of my friend Steven (Drifter_S) or Alex (Treefish).
Unlike newer cars, this thing has a soul type feel to it when you drive it, there's just something about old cars that give you this vibe/chill when you drive them. For only ~100whp this thing is peppy, considering it weighs ~2100lbs. That's 1600lbs lighter than my daily 05 Corolla XRS.
I've fixed a few things here and there such as brake lights, cleaned up the car, painted the car even with a friend of mine, took us 12 hours to mask, sand, prep, degrease, and spray. We used 6~8 cans of primer and I had plans to paint the car a new color in January 2009.
Hachi-Roku. AE86. Corolla. Slow and fun.

Almost. One of my favorite Super Nintendo games finally released on a proper system instead of the excuse of a re-make Playstation version that took forever to load between screens. It also includes the anime cut scenes from the Playstation version drawn by Akira Toriyama (鳥山 明) and utilizes the dual screen. Awesome. Pick up this game if you played the original, if you haven't you might not understand the craze, but this game was revolutionary when it came out because there were multiple different endings that added replay value, on top of trying to get to level 99 for all of your characters.
Getting tired, but just would like to point out how much America is a prime example of colonization gone wrong. United we stand, divided we fall. For sure we join up when we agree on certain things but we live in a "fuck off" society, where people mind their own business, and if you don't like what is said then "fuck off".
Sadly enough this is why other countries make fun of us, hate us, and don't respect us. I don't blame em. I try to be nice but people either take it the wrong way or take my kindness for a weakness, I'm open to help, but the moment you turn on me is the day i turn on you.
I have a reflective personality. I treat people how they treat me. It's a trait that no one will understand. I reflect someone's true self.
Talking to key players. Going to make this happen. It might be right hand drive. Processing information now...until then here are some pictures of what I'm thinking of in my head.
It's nothing. Really. Nothing at all. It's just an elegant display of a font that we so call seen often in today's society. AvantGarde is the font name of inspiration, AvantGuards is the name. I guess you can say it's a loose association of elitists, not quite relating to just cars, but in general a higher class group of people in society. Of course being invite only, it's quite an inside Graphic Design joke. Often imitated, never duplicated.
"People who soar are those who refuse to sit back, sigh and wish things would change. They neither complain of their lot nor passively dream of some distant ship coming in. Rather, they visualize in their minds that they are not quitters; they will not allow life's circumstances to push them down and hold them under. The remarkable thing we have is a choice every day regarding the attitude we will embrace for that day. We cannot change our past... We cannot change the fact that people will act in a certain way. We cannot change the inevitable. The only thing we can do is play on the one string we have, and that is our attitude."
Before I start the actual blog, I just want to dedicate my entire life to this quote, because it has further inspired me to justify what I do everyday and how I live my life everyday.
